A podcast for people who love knitting, Dorset Buttons, creativity & Scotland, especially the Highlands & Islands.

Welcome to the 23rd episode of my podcast – Derailed.

Thank you for listening again or welcome if you are a first time listener.

The TJFrog Podcast is back!

After my last episode in May – Getting Back on Track I then parted with the podcast for a few months hence the title of this episode Derailed.

I chat about how this has not been the year for the TJFrog Podcast with one thing and another; disruption, emotional exhaustion, being ill and I also touch on the peri-menopause / menopause!  And doing shows when I probably would have been better having a rest!

This episode is about saying Hi and that the podcast will get back to a monthly schedule with all the different sections starting with the next episode on Sunday 27 October.

Many thanks to everyone who got in touch asking about the podcast and saying they were missing it.

I’m now getting ready for Loch Ness Knit Fest so in the meantime I have a wonder interview for you –

Across The Bridge

For this interview I have gone down to Fife on the East Coast of Scotland to see Aileen of Aileen Clarke Crafts who incidentally will be making her debut at Loch Ness Knit Fest this year!

Aileen and I first met at Edinburgh Yarn Festival in 2015 when we were each exhibiting at our first yarn festival.  We had a great time chatting about our times together at EYF and how we have watched each others businesses grow.

We hear about Aileen’s beautiful products which range from felted pictures, brooches and earrings to printed products of her felt work which include cards, bags and mouse mats and we also learn about her resin jewellery.

A small selection of Aileen’s products & what she will be bringing to Loch Ness Knit Fest, 18 & 19 Oct 2019.  (photo courtesy of Aileen Clarke)

Aileen loves to crochet and we hear how she started on this journey and her introduction to all things yarn.  We chat about the inspiration behind her work and the colours that feature strongly in her products.

Aileen at Woolfest 2019 stood on that rug she talks about in the interview!

I love Aileen’s work and have brought a few pieces myself over time including this beautiful box.

And Geraint bought this gorgeous cushion for me at Woolfest.

Enjoy listening to Aileen and look out for her at Loch Ness Knit Fest or future events.

If not head over to her website  blog or Etsy shop.

You will also find Aileen on Facebook and Instagram as @aileenclarkecrafts

That’s it for now.  I will be back on 27 October with a full update of what’s been happening since that last episode back in May!

Til next time . . .

Bye for now.

  1. Hi Tania, please ignore my prematurely sent comments if they get through! Finger trouble on tablet.
Was trying to say, enjoyed listening to your tales of wool fests while prepping for a rare craft fair commitment of my own.
And, we have a weather station on our house in Harrapool, which John would be very happy to talk about if you’ve any questions!

    1. Hi Anne, interested to hear you are doing a craft fair. Hope it goes / went well. Great to hear you have a weather station too! Many thanks for the offer of having a chat with John. I will take you up on that at some point. And it will be a good opportunity to have a catch up – too long! Tania x
