Last Sunday I had the privilege of running a Dorset Button Christmas Decoration workshop at The Makery, Bath.  As part of their Open Day, The Makery ran a series of 1-hour taster craft workshops.  If you are not already familiar with The Makery do take a look at their website or even better take a trip along to see them and all the gorgeous crafting, making delights they have to offer.  Their premises on Union Passage are entered through a bright, colourful, yellow doorway with a staircase leading to four floors of craft supplies and workshop space.

The Dorset Button Christmas Decoration workshop focused on using the traditional skills of a Dorset Button to create a decoration for the Christmas Tree or to hang on a door.  A curtain ring has been used with a readymade little hook for the ribbon.  The hour flew by and I completely forgot to take a picture of the ladies in action making their decoration!

The Open Day also coincided with The Makery’s 5th Anniversary as well as the Bath Christmas Market.  I stopped by and said hello to Jess and Alison working on The Makery’s stall, seen surrounded here by many of The Makery’s new range of gorgeous craft kits.

And their certificate for coming 2nd in the best overall dressed chalet at the market!

Bath Market

There’s just one more day of the Bath Christmas Market left, so if you can, do pop along and see them or next time you are in Bath take a walk through the yellow door to see their great range of kits, fabric, ribbon, haberdashery, and endless pieces for craft making or try out one of the many workshops.

  1. Beautiful decorations Tania. I love the rich red and the symmetry of the shape.
