Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2015 – my first big show as an exhibitor!  Huge thanks to Mica & Jo, the organisers, for giving me the opportunity as a newbie vendor.  I had an incredible weekend – exhilarating, exhausting and inspiring all rolled into one.

I had limited sleep in the final days leading up to the EYF.  Even with my endless lists there still always seemed something else to do, think about or pack.  A last minute change to travel arrangements saw me driving the 5 hours from Skye to Edinburgh on my own.  A beautiful day, surrounded by this gorgeous scenery along the way, gave me some quiet reflection time before the start of the weekend.

Although I got a bit of a fright when one of these wild goats ran across the road in front of me!

The weather didn’t last, arriving in Edinburgh to cloud and rain although with all the action taking place inside the Edinburgh Corn Exchange the weather was immaterial.

I had a fantastic response and felt humbled by the comments and feedback I received.  I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everybody who stopped by my stand and loved hearing about their experience of the event.  I came away with lots of suggestions and ideas for the future and received great advice from fellow vendors.  My Hubby did a stirling job supporting me over the weekend and helping out on the stand.  I managed a quick half hour look around the show on Sunday and will blog about some of the goodies I purchased another time.  For now I’m off on a break to do some knitting in Norway!

Bye for now.

  1. Hi Tanya, So delighted to see that you made to the EYS. Your stall looks fabulous and I’m sorry I missed the event. Probably due to your influence I have recently become addicted to sock knitting and that’s all I do on my long train journeys up North. Hope it’s going well in Skype. Keep in touch! Margo

    1. Hi Margo, thanks for your lovely comments about the stall. Great to hear about your sock knitting – a good way to pass the time on the train!

  2. It is indeed, Saturday’s 6 hour trip went by in a blur of fair isle knee socks. How’s your knitting coming on?

    1. Just had a fabulous trip to Norway knitting! Have a few WIPs that need to be finished!

  3. hi Tania, this is Alison’s mum / Tawny owl . I love your work, I can’t think how I got your website , I do belong to different crochet, knitting and crafting sites. It might have been through one of those. You are certainly kept busy. I hope you and your husband are well. I see your mum occasionally but not spoken for a while now.
    Kind Regards
